The Black Cat Concept!

So this one is just the reversal of colours; now black forms the spots. I prefer this palette swap because I have a little scenario to go along with it.

Imagine a world where there are no such things as cheetahs but only these black cats. And it is not only until our protagonist hero drinks CPS, that he is able to shatter his black coat into 'spots' (where by gaining incredible speed and power) and defeats his nefarious foe. Thus the first ever 'real' cheetah is born, thanks to the help of our product!

I'm telling you, this will sell drinks my friends!

Commercials Commercials Commercials.

Hey gang!

We need to keep moving...the production schedule says that we need to be on storyboarding right now. We need to hone the timing of the piece.

I was thinking about pacing all week. What i thought was backed up by a commercial i saw.
The length of the commercial was the creators spent, a deal of time cutting the fat of the commercial. They cut to only the key parts of what they were trying to sell.

TO save time, we should as well thats why we need to work out the story to what is key to sellling the product.
Heres a link to the full 50 second commercial...

Heres what they shortened ( i think by creative choice) - i cant seem to find it, but its on tv if you are watching...keep an eye out for it.

They brought in shots like:

Videos for thought

I had way too much coffee today and my hands got the jitters. But it also gave me an idea for how I want this cheetah to move. I want his body to be so filled with energy after consuming the drink that his very core will seem to tremble with uncontainable power. His polygons with shift and displace and even fragment and tear apart when approaching high speeds.

I know its a stretch to imagine this. But please have a look at these videos to see what I mean.

I hope to be able to post some form of rendering of how I expect all this to translate soon.
Wish me luck!

So I just slapped this one together hastily. Its not even a render but a screen grab as you all can tell. But I wanted something out asap.

Oh and this final video is just awesome! I think I figuratively wet myself watching...pls enjoy!

The weigh ins.

Here is a silhouette of our 2 guys in how I estimate they would size up next to each other.
I had a small laugh cos it reminded me of the old Ipod commercials...

Long live the M16

I hope you guys had a great Canada day/weekend.
I had some free time so I decided to model this M16 assault rifle. I chose this weapon because I have trained, cleaned and fired this weapon for extended periods; therefore I am very familiar with it and it allowed me to model it quicker. Its about 6.5k polys now, which I think is too much, and I'm not even done with all the details. In hindsight, I have figured out where I can be more conservative poly wise.

Guys, please post some stuff so I can work on CPSC...or at least communicate with me so I know what to expect.

The new look

This is the new look we hope to achieve. Vineet is in favor of this as well.

Update on cheetahs face

I wanted to make his face more angular, i kept looking at a cheetahs reference face.

I am working on this with shan, the next thing it to really add claws to the hands and feet.

The Big Bull'y

So here is our main antagonist. I think he looks like a fat devil who need to lose some weight. Maybe its the horns, maybe its the red colour, I dunno...
Guys ripp into it.

Great designs from a friend far yonder.

Great work Vinni, hope to see more!

CHEEEEEETAH!!!

Hello guys! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.
OK we all know this is the look we are trying to achieve for now.

I stress this because for obvious reasons, our end product has gotta look as fresh as we can get it. So here is my first test render, please please give me your feedback, I can't tell you how valuable it is to me.

I did a half-assed job of rigging cos I just wanted to quickly get him into a action pose. There aren't even any bones in the fingers. Needless to say, I had to break the rigg in some areas and he looks terrible from almost every other angel. Trust me, its not a pretty sight and I won't show it to you.

"Alright alright, you push too hard darlings"..... here is the profile. ;p

and front view/side view

Kay guys, fire away!

Shan out!

Commercial Inspiration

Couldnt Upload the files i had, they were above 100mb.
So i have the youtube sites, watch in HD.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltRcq-l9-K4
-Notice the really good transitions - the snowboarders red snowboard carving transitions to the red log that he grabs from the honda trunk.
-Saves time and adds cool to the commercial.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtRiQTK_a48
-Notice how at the end, the rotation of the honda, there are cuts to the turn, saving time and adding edge.

CPSC Rough Boards

video

Sorry for the rough drawings.
Anyway, none of these shots are set in stone.
Please do let me know of nicer shots and actions if you do think of it.
A problem to note, even these rough rough leica is already 26 secs....that means we got to cut down and trim away alot of stuff.
